Our adventure began in the spring of 2021 when a piece of land in the country adopted us. Inspired by the countryside and the chance to return to our roots, we left the city with our three children and our four-legged friends to start a new chapter in the country. Not long after, Matt's mind began to wander. Curiosity grew and research began. We sought advice from fellow locals who graciously shared their knowledge of garlic. Soon, a project was in full bloom. We thought we'd plant a few bulbs of Music. Then, why not some Icy? While we're at it, a small row of Chesnok red. By October, we'd planted 3800 cloves of 6 different types!
Through the winter, we often wondered whether any would grow; we'd been warned that harsh winters, soil composition and all kinds of other ingredients could affect our yield.
To our grat surprise, once the snow began to melt, there was green! Pretty, well defined rows began to pop out of the blanket of white snow. We had garlic! Weeks passed and there were scapes! This was for real! "Holy moly, we're garlic farmers!"
And so, our story began... we continue to learn and to try new things. Our goal is to bring fresh gourmet garlic from our land to your table. We hope you'll love it as much as we do!
